Babies grow at an alarming rate. That’s why capturing how tiny, beautiful and precious your newborn is just after birth is so important. Everything from tiny fingers and toes, cute eyelashes and pouty little lips can be held onto to keep forever with newborn photography.
Newborn Photography sessions are best taken in your baby’s first 6 – 10 days, when they’re still sleepy and happy to curl up. It is an amazing time to capture the miracle of your new child.
The initial time with your newborn passes so very quickly, so it’s important to get in early! Please contact as soon as possible, preferably while you’re pregnant to book in an estimated due date.
Combining a maternity photography session with your newborn session is a very popular option to tell the story of the new life that you are bringing into the world.
And of course your baby can still be photographed after this initial newborn time period. It is always a good time for baby photography as they are only small for such a short amount of time that any moment that you choose to have memories of your baby created is precious.
You could choose baby photography to capture any of the special milestone moments that make up your baby’s first year. For example, a good time might be at around the point when they start to smile and laugh and their true personalities start to shine through. Or even at the time when they are sitting unaided, crawling or taking their first steps.
Newborn photography sessions are generally held in studio (but you can of course do an in-home session if you prefer!). They generally run for 2 – 4 hours and are completely designed to work with your baby so there is plenty of time for feeding and cuddles.
Baby photography sessions (past newborn) can be held either indoors or outdoors. Outdoor locations can make a beautiful backdrop for your portrait photography especially when your baby is starting to be on the move or has older siblings so that they have a bit more room to move around and play.
